ZZP Rear Sway Bar for Sonic - Anyone installed it?

ddm rear brace RS

after about 5 months I had to remove the DDM rear brace. When Installed I noticed the tabs provided do not fit and the shape of the triangular ends does not sit flush In the rear suspension. I had a small creaking noise after about a month that was almost unnoticeable. Recently though it has becoming embarrassingly loud pulling into parking lots and such at slow speed and in neutral. I'm not sure but I'm thinking it may not be an exact fit in RS models. I was hoping to avoid it but I kinda new it was going to happen when there was a little play in the fit, even with the bolts cranked as hard as possible. It did feel great on the car and is noticeable again with it off. Going to have o mess with it to see if it can still be used or im going to go with the full ZZP bar.

Last time i reinstalled the ddm bar I used a impact and ran the bolts on till the impact stopped moving. I have had 0 creaking noises since that. May be worth a try

All sonics have the same rear axle.

Mine made noise as well. Honestly my hardware looked like it bent. I wonder if they revised it at all. Or if I can get new end plates to put them on the new car

I've been thinking about getting the brace. Can't the end pieces be modified to fit better in the beam to eliminate the squeaking. Maybe they could be wrapped with teflon strips to stop the squeak?

If keeping the stock front bar I would suggest either the ZZP or DDM rear, but not both. Tomorrow traffic should be light on the way to work and I should be able to have a little fun as long as the weather cooperates.

What would happen if running both DDM and ZZP rear swaybars, with the stock front?

Probably too much rear bar without stiffening the front would throw off the balance and negatively affect the steering in tighter turns, causing greater understeer. Pushed hard enough the front would slide out in tight turns.

With more rear bar, you get oversteer not under. You want oversteer.

To much front bar will cause under steer.

What would happen if running both DDM and ZZP rear swaybars, with the stock front?

I no longer run the ZZP bar as it was of no help. Looking at the design I can see why. The DDMW insert alone is more than enough. The two combined had the same result as just the DDMW insert.
