Hey vince I got a better idea than removing the door crash bars.

Take the doors off, ala Jeep CJs. That's gotta be over 100lbs of weight for sure and it would be so bauss .
Maybe make some new, quick disconnect hinges for easy change outs and add a crash bar or netting for safety.

I was only half serious. I thought i'd seen videos of jeeps going down the strip with something other than "normal" doors.

About 45 min in. Got everything disconnected up top. Cables, brackets, sensors, bell housing bolts. Now to start dropping the sub frame.

Eric posted the video I took of the retarded dual mass stock flywheel. Look how much play there is before it hooks up with the trans drive shaft.

Chevy Sonic Flywheel Slop - YouTube

YouTube bad dual mass flywheels. The good ones have a segment of the sound of the flywheel with the clutch engaged, and it sounds like a metal can with pebbles bouncing around.

The aftermath is the play is worse, the clutch is burnt, flywheel has stress cracks, and if lucky the whole thing flies apart. Some love the single piece, others complain of vibration go with the light flywheel. I think any of that is better than a dual mass flywheel, and the possibilities that will ensue.

Bad News!!!

There is some kind of binding happening when the clutch engages, stalling the engine even in neutral.:blankface:

The guy from CM says it sounds like crank walk or a bad spec on the flywheel. Says I have to open it back up to determine the problem so they can make it right.

The job took 5 hours. I may pull it to find the problem, but it doesn't look like it'll be back together today.
