Gauge Pod Ideas?

I'd love to see GM Performance or Autometer come out with a top dash-tray replacement gauge mount pod. When I looked into buying the WRX a couple years ago, they offered a three instrument pod that was a factory clock replacement in the center of the dashboard. On the top of the Sonic dashboard there is a similar, removable piece that could EASILY... perhaps, be replaced with a gauge mount of this type. Maybe even carbon fiber... I'd settle for matte black plastic.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh very cool!! seems doable like that, I always personally liked the pillar gauges too, but this would be cool, something different less people have

I am going to guess that no manufacture will want to risk making a pillar mounted gauge pod due to the side curtain air bags. I could be mistaken but I do believe part of the side curtain air bag extends into the A pillar.

No aftermarket maker I am certain. I know Chevy had the boost gauge on my 2005 Cobalt SS/SC mounted there and it had the option ($395) for the side curtain air bags.

It occurred to me that since ZZP has a turbo Sonic that this question could well be directed to them; maybe an email to Kyla could generate the thinking that might lead to a positive response.

Yes ZZP has one in the works, I tried asking them how long it would be till it was released and they were unsure. Its a dual gauge pod on the top of the dash in the center.

I'm thinking about three of these, voltage, oil pressure and water temp.
I want to mount them in a custom pod in the left corner of the dash, up against the windshield. Nice and visible but out of the way.

This is correct, like them on Facebook and they have pics of it in their shop Sonic
Their pods usually run less than $100. But I got my dual plus RPD for my old SS for like $45 on their Black Friday sale

I'm probably going to eventually try to put 2 gauges in the left cubby, but there's not much incentive a the torque app works so well

This is what I ended up doing to house my gauges, used a thin peice of wood and trimmed it to the exact opening, coated it in wrinkle paint to give it the same look as the shift console.

Thats cool how you did that. I asked ZZP today how much longer for their dual gauge pod on the dash and they still aren't sure.
