Oh...and I took my Sonic to work today.

Rolled 10,000 miles on the way into work this morning:
Took delivery at the end of January with 272 miles on the odometer from my "extended" test drive, so I'm on track for about 30k miles a year.
Wow 35 miles left on the tank?
I bet your fuel pump loves you eh?

I usually don't let it run down that low.
Edit: my average tank is around 10 gallons so there's still about 2 gallons left in the tank for lubricating/cooling the pump. I never let it run too long on the "lo" indication, if ever.

Oil change #2 and tightened down the DDM coil cover. Make sure y'all are checking them, mine rattled lose (I thought my down pipe had came lose while it was idling in the driveway) and may have been causing some of the miss I had at WOT. It's time to go play and see it that resolved the issue. I'm also going to talk with Dave and see if a dab of blue lock tight might be a good option.

Why would a coil cover cause a misfire?

It holds down the coil pack..... Coil pack is loose it can shift, rattle, bounce...... When it shifts, rattles or bounces it can lose continuity with the spark plug.
Now, is this an issue with the coil pack?! Who the hell knows, but, I am sure as hell going to check it out and see if it solved the problem or not though. With it sounding like a ammo can with rocks in it being shacken it is a definite possibility. It could be the gap as well, mine where at 26-27 when I checked them and didn't think that .001" would cause any issues,but, that as well as logging are on the list of trouble shooting.

I filled up with 87. Yep, actual gasoline (well, E10, but a far cry from E85).
Let my son drive around in the Faire parking lot for a half hour.
Drove him over to Maypearl
Made him drive back. 60mph down the highway, white knuckles all the way.
Packed all the stuff I don't need for the next three days of work into the cargo bay, yep, no more rear seats till I get back to PA. Sonic is really a great cargo vehicle OR a great passenger vehicle, but it isn't both. Well, Hatchback anyway. I hear you can put a whole soccer team in the boot of the Sedan.*
