Responding to an older post but,
Is this why when I'm driving my manual Sonic it feels like the ECM is trying to drive it for me? I really wish taking off from a dead stop felt "natural".

It is also a behavior of the stock flywheel and clutch. Once I changed mine out, my car behaves much more "natural". As in, I can actually get the bucking bronco syndrome if I don't match revs just right for a smooth take off.

I don't mind the smoothness, what bothers me is it feels like I'm not the only one controlling the throttle.


Speaking of the bucking bronco syndrome, I think our model A has been leaking oil on the clutch. So yanno....... little sticky.

So where are you planning on mounting the plate? I didn't know it was required in Cali.

Unfortunately it is, and if they really want to be dicks about it, it has to be within a certain height range I believe. I remember back in the day I was like imma do that. That same day, maybe two hours later pulled over. Vowed never to do that again, regardless of how silly it looked.

I used a universal plate mount to screw the plate on in the factory holes but move it up so it blocks the oversize Chevy symbol instead of the intercooler.

I used to run without a front plate until my father received a $250 ticket for his missing front plate on an MR2 right next where live...you had a great officer there.

I haven't actually looked but I assumed the Sonic was like most other cars and that the grill(s) were mainly for looks and most of the air through the intercooler\radiator\condenser came from underneath?

Got them working. I had to use a voltage sensitive relay to control the brake portion only when 12v was seen.



So glad to finally be done with this project. I'll get another video when it's dark. The brake LEDs are bright as all hell!

Nope, none of the air comes up from the bottom. All fresh air for the radiator and charge air cooler goes through the grill.

set the stock 1.4l turbo on the 1.8 lol when you convert to bigger turbo hahaha

I just replaced my knock-off 42# injectors with genuine Bosch ones. First off, the difference in quality is easily distinguishable.

Secondly, my idle (e85) is muuuuch smoother and my LTLFs are under 1.00, as opposed to to bouncing around as far as 18 before.

I plan to fill up on 91 in the morning, as the issues were much worse during minimum duty cycle.

Cause I would like to know if I got fake 42# injectors?

It's easy to tell. The Bosch injectors have a part number stamped on the side. The knock offs just say 42lbs. on the side. Lol

Just ordered the GT2560 through DDMW.

He also has my extra exh mani at his shop.

Things should start progressing rather quickly in the next week or so.
