I guess if telling everyone I ran my intake through the RH high beam hole, and bolted on a 6" velocity stack still makes it a secret, then here is a photo

Ripper, that is insane. I looked under my hood today just to imagine the mod, and my first thought was how the hell could the routing be accomplished?

Also, any idea if you hit fourth before you crossed at 97mph?

It seems that data is starting to accumulate that suggests upgraded charge piping and inter cooling is having a noticeable effect on power.

I hope to make it back to the track once more before my turbo swap. Now that I finally got real Bosch injectors, I'm running a lot stronger. My tach should help me shift better. And I think I've been running my front tires too low.

Hey Preloader, I actually hit 5th! haha The auto matched with 3.65 final drive runs through first and second pretty quick. I hit 5th right before the line, like clock work. The 2012 auto came with a 3.65 setup, and it really runs better than expected. Porting my intake manifold really made the difference as far as running to 6,000 rpm, it really seems to always shift at the peak power.

My next plans are exhaust manifold porting, heat wrap, and insulate.
Some methanol injection and a race day tune to really make some gains.
My best mod will be better air! haha 3,600 isn't the worst ever, but with an average altitude density of 6,000 I think its worth a try haha.

an extra little bit of advice GET A CATCH CAN!!!!! if you don't already have one. The amount of oil that I found in the factory charge tubes, and intercooler was crazy!!!

I am running 36 psi in my drag radials, and they hook great after a quick little burnout. A bigger turbo will run awesome on these cars, especially on a stick that can leave as high in the rpm range as they desire. An auto would require a two step to let the car leave hard enough to not bog down. I am excited to see your results :banana:

Surprisingly, I have not accumulated any oil in my charge lines yet, but I'm figuring in a catch can soon anyway.

When work slows, I'll take another stab at the qtr with what I have. There were a series of undesirable dysfunctions going on with my set-up last time. Looks like I'll be playing a little catch up.

E85r

This will be used on my next track day

Sunoco E85R

Its a pure 85% Ethanol/15% race gasoline*, measured and designed specific for race use of E85. Pump E85 is 69-79% Ethanol, with the rest being low quality unleaded gasoline.

*An updated raceday tune would generate the best chance for possible gains with the E85R (IMO).

After much research, I have concluded that E85R is the best raceday fuel option for my sonic.

Pump E85 has tested to make more power than water/meth injection (not much more, but still more) and is a little easier to use IMO. E85R will create more power than 100 octane race gas, both by octane and burn temperature.
Race 109 and 116 both burn extremely hot and produce very high EGT. I have decided to axe the water/meth injection with E85 for a few reasons, the main reason being E85R. I will be using a c02 intercooler sprayer setup to get the cooler air into the motor.

This stuff should be a nice little upgrade for all the quarter mile guys running E85.

I put the stock intercooler back on.
Air was about ten degrees cooler (71)
Tire pressure was 18 psi

I'm having so much trouble launching the car. I can't rev past 4k in the manual transmission. When stopped. And I dump the clutch to spin tire and get grip.... I try 3k and rolling off the clutch and nothing. The track was really sticky today. And I can't get past high 2.39 60' to a 2.6 mostly low 2.4s

Thats not bad on stock tires, in a stick, without TTR mounts, or drag bags.

Try a jr size football in each rear spring, max psi in each without popping them.
This will reduce weight transfer off the front giving u a little more grip.
