ZZP Rear Sway Bar for Sonic - Anyone installed it?

I think that the ZZP rear sway bar is fairly new to the market. Not a huge fan of the torsion beam brace, and I assume a sway bar would provide a little more leverage. Has anyone installed this? If so are there notable improvements in handling?


UPDATE: I bought the zzp rear sway bar and it has made a huge improvement in handling. The body roll has been significatly reduced, and turn in is much improved. Install was less than an hour which included getting the tools. Easiest way to do it is unscrew the lower shock absorber bolts, and jack the car up. The tires can just sit on the ground, no need for a spring compressor.

I see that the bar is mounted with a plate that looks to go under the spring, how thick is that plate?

If memory is correct it is 1/8". I dont notice the rear sitting any higher with the plate in there.

Fawkin yes! If one rear sway bar is good, two must be twice as good!

Heck, with all that traction you're going to gain, you should check to see if BNR or ZZP have released their Dual Rear Wheel kit yet!

Also interested to know thoughts on having DDM brace, with ZZP rear brace and BNR front sway. I like go kart handling, but coilovers get destroyed by the road around here.

I have not really pushed it yet, but so far it is doing what I want. The DDM with stock front bar had a little bit or rotation to it. DDM and BNR front brought it to neutral to a slight push. Add in the ZZP rear and it is back to a slight rotation again. I will know better once I really get to push the car. Still to cold and damp to really push the car in corners.

Good stuff, I appreciate the insight. I just put the rear brace on yesterday, got to push it a little. Feels a bit more loose upfront when steering but holds the turns better. I just prefer a tight corner turn, if ya know what I mean.

You should look into the bnr front sway bar also.

If keeping the stock front bar I would suggest either the ZZP or DDM rear, but not both. Tomorrow traffic should be light on the way to work and I should be able to have a little fun as long as the weather cooperates.

And on the gauge install, it turned out to be a software conflict, now resolved, than heavens.

Mitdr- I'm awaiting your thorough review. I'm curious how the front swaybar and rear brace effect handling when pushing the limits.

Be sure to mention how the handling bias changes with the different settings. On that note do you know which setting the production bar is (stiff or soft)?
