Not really, I think what you may be noticing is the broad difference in power between under 3000 RPM and above now that you've bypassed the solenoid. It's a much bigger difference now so it may seem like there is less HP down low but it's just because it didn't gain anything.

If the solenoid is turned off in the tune, then nothing. It was not turned off on my Trifecta tune.

Doubt it, it's probably because they don't have access to it with their tuning software (probably lack the proper definitions). Wouldn't make much sense to leave something like that in your tune if you had the capability to remove it.

Actually no, it's a safety mechanism that has 0 reason to be disabled. If for example, you have an overboost condition and the tuner has turned off the solenoid, the solenoid cannot attempt to bleed boost to save your engine.
Should the limits be raised when tuned? Absolutely! Disabled? Wouldnt recommend it.
Actually, it's one of many systems in place to protect the drivetrain, but it's primary function seems to be more of a traction control device than over-boost protection. For example, the bypass valve solenoid would it intervene on dyno when the ABS fuse wasn't pulled to completely disable TC. It would keep the car from making ANY BOOST because it thought the front wheels were "slipping". It can also delay boost onset after a hard up-shift to keep traction. This along with the throttle being closed to 54% momentarily, is why the car feels "flat" after a spirited shift with TC engaged.
The ECM will kill power to the boost control solenoid if an over-boost condition is detected. In doing this, the turbo will be limited to wastegate spring setting only. On a stock turbo, that around 9psi.
If an over-boost condition was present, and the bypass valve solenoid was triggered, the release of any and all load on the already over-speeding turbo would yield and enormous increase in RPM of the turbocharger. This would dramatically increase the risk of blowing the turbocharger to "kingdom come".

Just did this Mod today. Made a run with it down the street and it seems like a better running machine. On the way back to the house I turned the traction control off and it will churp the tires going into second. Nice mod. Thanks for the write up!

Good day all, quick question. Can this mod ruin my cars warranty in any way? I have a 2016 RS and would love the better drive but not at the cost of my warranty

I've run this mod since about three months after purchase in Dec 2014. I just kicked over 40k and I've been in service like clockwork every 5k miles for service. They've never noticed nor mentioned the mod.
I would assume they could find cause to void your warranty if something happened within the motor, turbo related, but as Blue RS mentioned it's easy to reverse in minutes and I doubt they'd trace anything back to this.
It would more than likely appear as a bov issue since the computer would still see the solenoid operating. You're bypassing it, not disabling it

Thanx for the replies. I was just scared even if i reverse the mod GM might see the witness marks and pull a number on me. I will do some more homework on this subject but i have a feeling this mod is gonna happen sooner than a thought

I have actually taken my car for service and engine work three different times in to the dealership. I had to get a valve cover gasket replacement and front seals replacement due to a small oil leak. I have this mod and all three times that I dropped off my car at the dealership, either they didn't see it, witch I doubt, or they saw it and the guys at the dealership didn't even bring it up. The work that was done in my car was done under warranty. If this mod was to affect the warranty, they would have said something. But every dealership may not feel the same way...
