Stock is a returnless setup up. No treads have been posted on it as far as I know. The only people who need it are people making big power. 250+ I only know of two people making that power. MPFab and some other dude with an efr6258 set up.

So ideally the new tires for the rims will be 255 40 17 in order to keep the overall diameter as close as possible to stock. So today I went to a local tire shop to picked up a single used tire to see if the 255 will work. They only had a 255 45 17 but as far as fitment they will be the same. These tires are 1.1" larger in diameter than the 255 40 17's and they dont have a bead guard. In other words, these tires look ugly and kinda ridiculous on the car, but again... fitment. Everything works, but I am still on stock springs and struts, we will see how everything fits this weekend when I install my coilovers.

Rear fitment-> E brake bracket is going to need a tad bit of grinding or bending for peace of mind
Stock LTZ wheel weight 41lbs..
Approximate final weight of ML7's with wheels: 46lbs

I know, "low and mean orion sonic". And neither the tire or rim rub. It's a fit, just need to make sure it fits with coilovers. 9x17 et30.

I installed the coilover this weekend to see if the tires fit and they do! However like I said in previous post this is just a test tire. Again the test tire is 255 45 17. Actually tires will be 255 40 17. The test tires are 1.1 inches wider in overall diameter.
So here is the clearance. In the first picture it looks like there is none, but in the second picture I stuck a piece of paper between strut and wheel/tire and there is clearance of about 3/16 to 1/4 inch.

Looks like it could use a fender roll and a couple 1/4" spacer
I'd personally want to check clearance throughout suspension travel

I dont want to run spacers and keep in mind these tires are only tucked up in the wheel well like that are because they are 1.1 inches bigger than what I will be running. I will grind down the collars if I have too in order to get more peace of mind.

I wasnt making the power I am now, but with my auto it held 208whp for I think over a year.

Yeah same here, however it is going to be a little while. I am more focused on getting all the power mods finished first!
