Dude this is incredible....its like plastidip only you actually are able to get a decent finish. How does it go on?? How much is the spray two itself?

It’s pretty straightforward, but it’s time consuming. I wouldn’t recommend this as a garage DIY, you really need a booth. After it cures, you can wet sand and buff it just like automotive clear coat. Self-heals scratches, chip resistant, gasoline proof, 5+ year life, and protects the factory finish. It’s cool stuff. As far as cost, the products don’t cost an arm and a leg, but the labor is a killer. Here’s a tutorial video showing the process.

And, yes, it’s similar to Plasti Dip, but a million times nicer and more durable.

How difficult was it to remove the mustache portion of the grille? Actually, how difficult is the bumper itself?

The bumper is a PITA. There’s nothing out of the ordinary, but the brackets holding it to the fender are super tight. There are also two clips that snap in under each headlight that it’s best to reach inside the fender well and push up and loose. It’s not hard, but I almost guarantee something will break. It all screws back in tightly though, so it’s not a huge deal.

I learned a few things to streamline the process for next time, but it is still tedious. It’s waaaay harder than a paint job. [emoji23]

This stuff is tough as can be! You’d have to seriously want to scratch it to make it happen, and even then, it self-heals in the sun. I can see that it would be great protection. It comes off in big sheets after it’s cured for a couple of weeks, but I’m impatient.

Well, thank God I hadn’t wasted my time spray wrapping the body or tinting the tail lights yet. Someone rear ended me at a red light one block from work this morning. It’s buckled and will have to be pulled out. New lights, bumper cover, tail gate, interior trim panels, and quite a few other things I’m sure. Lovely.

It makes me angry more than anything. Someone playing on their phone at the light, saw the right lane start moving for a right on red, so she gunned it so hard that she did all that from a dead stop. People need to pay attention and get off their phones.

Nobody got hurt, and it’ll all get fixed, so I’ll cool off. The value of the car will take a big hit, but that’ll just make me want to hang onto it even more. Haha!

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. I ride a motorcycle more than my Sonic and can't tell you how many times I've almost lost my life to this ignorance. I'm one of the calmest guys I've ever known but seeing someone texting and driving will send me straight to "bite your head off" mode.

What's more infuriating than anything is when you tell them to put it down and they get defensive. Sorry, but I don't deal with stupid.:rolleyes:

So true. I traded my bike for the jetta this spring, but I can honestly say that having that experience has made me a way better and more observant driver.
Loud pipes save lives.

I’ve been trying to decide how I want to route the CAI inlet, and I thought of something. After all it’s been through today, I think the Sonic deserves a flowtie.
