These little motors really are amazing. I found one locally with an auto trans for 300 bucks and I'm just trying to talk myself out if buying it lol. Also pondering a trax AWD swap....who knows. I'm out if work for July though so I cant do anything too rash.

Well the cruze sonic and trax are all based on the gamma 2 design so there are a big pile of similarities but so far I'm not 100% sure....I haven't had a chance to get a good look at the underbelly of a trax yet. But this transmission is out of an AWD so.....ugh. I dunno if I'm gonna be able to say no to this oneIs the chassis the same in the Trax as the Sonic? Subframes, suspension design, etc.?

At first I wasn’t sold on the ROI, but the more I drove the more I appreciated it. The feel below ~4500 is very similar to stock, but that feeling you get with the stock turbo where you get planted back in the seat for about 1000RPM followed by a huge let down…never happens. It pulls well all the way to 6000+ even on the stock valve springs. Keeping in mind that I still have the valve springs and at least 3psi more to look forward to makes it even better. Holding 26+ all the way to 7K will make it all well worth it.

In these cars with stock frame style turbos, the drive pressure (near 3-1 on the top end) causes the exhaust side to valve float before this intake does. This is why Walker for example can run 30ish psi to 7k on stock springs. His drive pressure is closer to 1-1 due to the turbo size and tubular manifold.
That same drive pressure is hell on turbo thrust bearings. and these stock frame bearings, even when upgraded, are pathetically tiny compared to almost any other JB turbo. roughly a dime size compared to a standard t3 turbo thrust bearing being the size of a silver dollar.
How hard you push it is obviously between you and jerry, but i'd hate to see you throw your money in the trash for the sake of chasing some psi number.
