No, it takes 2 3/4" as well.
Only thing to worry about is shooting steel with the full choke. But I have yet to see any confirmations about the barrel bulging at the choke. I thought about getting it cut for tubes since it is only good for home protection and shooting
My bike is getting over-bored at the Kawi dealer. Long story short, the dealer ordered all new cylinder, rings, etc., but Kawasaki decided to overbore.
This is actually good news, because that means I get:
- new ring design that doesn't suck by burning oil
- more pah!
There was a bit of a delay, since the dealer had to re-order parts to accommodate the bore-out (different rings, etc). I'm looking to get the bike back in 7-10 days.
This works out good, because we're having cold weather and/or rain for the next 7 days anyway.
The tech at this new dealer that I went to told me today that the guy that rebuilt this top end right before I bought it (2k miles ago) was a damned imbecile. Corners were cut, bolts were missing and other misc signs of crappy work.
When my current cylinder was measured, it was out of round (didn't write down the numbers that the guy gave me). Same thing with the rings - non-concentric ever so slightly, which is a known issue with the factory rings for a stock-sized cylinder.
All in all, sounds like my oil burning issues will be resolved in a week or so, I'll have the bike back in time for good weather, and I'll have a bit more oomph, since the cylinder is getting bored out. More power out of a KLR is always nice.
Awesome! Sounds like I rebuilt the top end! I finished my bike and I had all these left over bolts and missing bolts but the left overs didn't fit

Perhaps, but you're likely not a professional moto tech, working for a dealership, where you're the "lead engine guy". That implies that you're more than just an oil jockey and should know your stuff. Not surprisingly, shortly after, the dealership owner said that this guy went to work for Harley.
Sounds like he wasn't happy working there, so he didn't care about the job he did. Or he's just lazy.
PPQ looks better and while PPX's trigger is very, very, very good, the PPQ's is brilliant.I was looking at getting a ppq or ppx

Id be interested to trade me shield for the PPQ. I know the PPQ is larger than the shield, but I could see sacrificing a bit of size for a gun that shoots better in my hands.
Walther puts some of the nicest stock triggers in their current lineup of handguns.
PPX is made in Ulm, Germany.Kinda funny cause a lot of the newer walthers in the us are made by s&w.

I'm thinking about a Sig P938. I've had two P238s and loved them, but would like the little extra that 9MM provides over .380.

In reality the SHield is not designed to be a highly accurate firearm. At the legal distances it can be used for defense it is far more than adequate. Even at 30' (about 9' past legal distance here) I can still keep a 20 shot group within a 4" circle.
