I was going to wait to do a DIY until after I had completed it but I could start the thread now, I have already started the write up and have all the part numbers and stuff. What do you think, should I start the thread now?

I'm contemplating doing all four corners on my car, but I don't want to use plain rotors.
I did some digging around in the brands that I sell, and didn't find anyone selling the fronts. I contacted Powerstop about fronts, because they offer rears, and they said there hasn't been much demand.
If demand doesn't increase, they might not be out until the end of the year, or later. If anyone wants to help the process along, contact Sales@powerstop.com and tell them what you need.
Centric/Stoptech make plain rotors, but don't seem to offer options. I haven't contacted them yet, because they tend to cost a lot more. Since they already have a plain rotor, it might not take much to have them customize one.
I did see a company online that offers the fronts, but I plan on using my own sources for job security.

Blank rotors are better then any slotted or cross drilled rotor on the street
i agree with sneakerfix .
in the aftermarket the range is not that good for our cars.
the drilled ones getting cracked and the slotted ones gust make noise without any improvement it terms of braking.
the solid ones are the best choice.
i decided also to have the front brakes done on my RS.
just waiting for chevy trax front rotors and pads from my dealer (same platform, as the buick encore does not sold here locally).
the combination of 300mm rotor with more pad surface would be enough for our cars.
if not, then a swap for better performance pads will do.
but the 300mm is a must.
and i also recommend to all the change the brake fluid for something more durable in terms of high temp.

1000 mile update: The pads are still seating to the discs, I drive mostly freeway which is partly why it's taking so long, but also I think it's partly due to not having to use as much brakes since they are capable of much more stopping power than the Sonic generally needs.
Any difference in brake pedal effort I noted earlier is no longer perceptible and when you need to stop quickly or slightly aggressively, you stop NOW. Like RIGHT NOW. Still very happy with the conversion.

Normal driving you can still modulate braking just fine, it's just when you need it it's there.
On a side note, following too closely is a big pet peeve of mine and when someone is following me too closely I move over and let them ride someone else's arse. In my younger invincible days I would've been known to brake check but I'm getting too old for that nonsense these days.

last week I ordered some ebc Brake pads part no. DP32067C. They were just a part number and still have to me made but I think this will b a great option in he future when they start manufacturing lots of these pads. The wait in them Is 4 more weeks. Till then all the rest of my brake parts sit.

Yes they would work, for me I just got them locally because we didn't have the part number to order them from GM. As long as you get the correct grading and dimensions it doesn't matter where you get them, unlike a part such as the caliper bracket which you can only get from GM.

Or use fleabay to source the calipers with brackets as i did.
