I don't think anyone has. I'm sure it's one of those upgrades where doing one or two 60-0 stops isn't going to be much different than stock but if you are hard on your brakes such as a couple of members have mentioned either living in a mountainous area or auto-x you are going to have more consistent braking for longer.
Probably not unlike upgrading the intercooler. For most of us we just don't drive hard enough long enough to really push the thermal limits of the stock intercooler but a lot of members are upgrading it anyway. I am planning to get MPFab's intercooler at some point although I'm sure I don't really need to. Same with me converting to rear disc.

i hope that next week i will get the rotors and pads.
btw, have you changed also the brake fluid on your swap.
as i know for a fact it's a bit of a weakness on the stock brake system.

I have not. The truth is I'm pretty easy on my brakes so I don't stress the fluid.
it's not a matter of ease on the brakes.
the stock brakes on the sonic are also the same in the European market when it comes on the 1.4 and 1.6L engines that are very weak compare to a modified sonic with 1.4T.
i am now hitting 160 WHP... compare to the 115WHP on stock,. also the WTQ has raised up by 8 KGM... so the extra stopping power is needed.
i will never modified a car without done the brakes first.
the stock pads and stock brake fluid are a bit on the soft side.
a good durable brake fluid can make the different .

I did this over the weekend and its a big difference especially at triple digit speeds. Much less effort in daily driving too.
It was totally straightforward and drilling the spindles was easier than expected. A sharp bit does all the work. The biggest surprise was the bill for the 4 bigger bracket bolts from GM! They were more than the brackets and I pay cost!
I used the better of the two pads NAPA listed for a 2014 Encore. They surprisingly dont offer a ceramic pad.
Great mod for the money.

Also, I was just hired as an engineer at GM and will soon be eligible for employee pricing. I'm curious if it is worth it to wait until I start my job in may to purchase the OEM rotors, pads and caliper brackets through GM?

The only parts you HAVE to get from GM are the brackets since they're the only ones that make it. As far as pads, rotors and bolts, as long as they're the correct application you have a lot of choices.
The only thing I would do different is to get zinc washed rotors so they stay nice looking for longer.

May be a stupid question, by up grading the brakes say at about 40-50,000 miles on the car does this void any warranty? Such as the drive train warranty? I'm assuming the brakes sould last that long.

No it will not void the PW. It's never to early to upgrade

It's my wife's car, I'll upgrade as stock components wear out.
I was wondering about the warranty because I could hear, the brakes are attached to the axles which are attached to the transmission argument. Hopefully nothing goes wrong but I'm not that lucky. LOL
