Things to add
- the rear springs are easy...do them first.
- The compressor tool for the front takes A LOT of turns (on both) to compress the spring enough to allow the nut to thread.. I think the strut shaft actually shortens onces you take the nut off, so you have to compress the sping a LOT to get it all back together
- When removing the nut, be aware there may still be a little bit of travel in the spring. When I used the compressor I compressed the heck out of it, but that little bit of coil above the top tooth of the compressor is compressed by the nut..so it'll still pop some....
- I used some anti seize compound on the thread when I put it back together..works wonders

didn't really swear....but for a bit, when I was Googling what type compressor I should have..and the internet was slow....urge to smash was very high

I DON'T think so... The shock has a lower bolt going into the trailing arm... that's just tighten up tight... then two bolts that connect the shock upper mount to the body...those just tighten good
The shock itself is held in the upper mount by the shock nut (you'll need that universal shock tool to hold the shaft of the shock from turning when you're undoing the shock nut)...and that just stops against the top of the mount...
Sorry I'm not being very scientific on that reply...but the 4 times I've taken the rear shocks off none of the bolts/nuts were in an area where you'd find yourself over torquing it... unless you just he-man the **** out of it...

You'll want a morning/afternoon...3 hours is tight.
The rears are EASY to install.
The fronts, not bad, but the compression of the spring takes the most time. And some fiddling with geting the upper strut bolt off as it's a trick spot and the bolt sits in an indentation. I used a wrench of the correct size as they didn't have a socket at Sears in that size.
It took me about 4-5 hours as I took it slow.
The rears are EASY to install.

Rears maybe 30min tops doing it by yourself, super easy.
Fronts, if you have the right wrench to pull the upper mount bolts then it's not bad. If you have to fight with it and run to the parts store 2x to figure it out, much longer...

or run to the parts store the 1st time, get the wrong type spring compressor..........

have the top cap pop off because you got the wrong compressor...nobody hurt. Go back get right compressor, spend 20 minutes hand tightening both sides by hand until your forearms feel like Popeye....
Anyhoo, yeeh budget a Saturday morn-afternoon...
But once it's done...BOOM it's awesome.
Do ensure you tighten the driver's side bolt all the way, and make sure you put some grease or something to prevent rust on it and put the cap back on all the way. There's been some discussion of the driver's side upper strut mount rusting (there's a post on it here somewhere).. So a little prevention will help a lot later!

Decided to take a swing at installing my B&Gs today. Got as far as removing the top hat nuts and hit a roadblock. Should have read up on the rust thread beforehand, low and behold the drivers side post and nut was rusted pretty nasty. Of course I didn't have any WD40, and didn't want to chance boogering up the threads by forcing it off. Also, once I got the nut about halfway off it seized in the rusted threads and began to just spin the whole post. Decided to put everything back together for today. I've got plans for dinner tonight, will have to tackle round 2 tomorrow.

Little wd-40 and a nice impact wrench will fix that right up.

The best investment I made in my toolbox is my craftsman cordless impact wrench. It is super helpful when doing this project
