I wanted to give back to the community by adding some info on replacing the rear bump stops.
You will need:
T20 torx driver
10 mm socket
15 mm socket
15 mm offset wrench
locking pliers
Insert these steps while you are changing out the rear springs.
First remove the inner fender using the T20 torx driver and 10 mm socket. There are also a couple of clips like on the front cowel. I don't remember exactly how many of each, but if you gently pull on the fender and it doesn't move in an area, there is a screw holding it still.
Removed fender:
Once the fender is removed, you have easy access to the bracket holding the strut to the car. Use a 15 mm socket on the two bolts. Now you can remove the strut from the car.
After strut is removed (two holes for bolts at top):
The top of the strut has a 15 mm nut. But you need to be able to rotate the nut from the shaft of the strut. There is probably a better set of tools for this, but I used what I had which was a 15 mm offset wrench and locking pliers to hold the shaft which has been formed to be held at the top. This slightly damaged the shaft, but not severely. It's a bit of work and difficult to maneuver the wrench while gripping with the pliers.
Use a wrench like this:
...with pliers like this (apologies for the blurry picture):
Once the nut is removed, the bracket can come off. Then pull out the old bump stop with the dust boot. Install the new bump stop in the new boot and put back together. Eibachs have the rear boots, I don't know about H&Rs. The Eibach bump stops are quite a bit shorter and were necessary because I was always bottoming out in the rears before--made for a terrible ride.
