Here's an odd update for me on gmconnects this morning:

Dealer called me yesterday and said the vehicle was off-loaded from rail car and was awaiting truck transport......aside from the fact that I knew that much last Friday ......it seems that for once gmconnects might be ahead vs. behind........at this point I can only speculate about the status of the car and laugh/cry/wonder at my dealers struggle with the 'information age' ........at least my sales guy is making an effort to communicate with me, and I do appreciate that

Just got home with mine...almost exactly 3 months to the day of my order date!

I love it, silversurfer, just another bit of wierdness that makes following these builds so much fun. I reiterate my suspicion that pre completing the paper work is the reason, but as you see, there still has to be a status 5000, delivered to the dealer, somewhere in the scheme of things.

Well, the Michigan women beat Illinois earlier today and the Michigan men are looking righteous this evening. Speaking as a Michigan man, who could ask for anything more at this time of the year.

Guess what???.......................I just drove my Sonic home!!!!!!!!!:banana: Love the car so far, am probably going to take it out tonight, actually, for a little test spin on the interstate......I know, I know.....a kid on Christmas morning

What a ride that ordering process was, and like you said Laborsmith, I've swear I won't do that again......until I do it again....I reflect back on it a little now, and actually have to say overall I enjoyed it, learned a lot, and meet some great folks on this forum and at the dealership.

Thanks to all on the forum who've informed, commiserated, laughed, cried, held hands and sang "Kumbaya" around the camp fire, etc, etc. The forum truely has been, and I think will continue to be a great community and great source of information.

Any easy way to tell if an order has gone to QC?

My order from 10/27/11, finally went to bayed (4B00) last week - 2/23/12. My dealer called me and told me to expect it in 1-6 days. (I'm in Cleveland.) Today, I saw that it went to bayed (4B00) again yesterday (3/1/12). The dealer's already been invoiced, but they haven't yet received it. So, I'm now wondering if this could be another couple of weeks.

After having an original production date in December, then mid-January, then late-February, I'm starting to wonder if it'll ever actually arrive.

I've got 4 - 4B00's as well! Really chalking 'em up!

corprimo: Multiple 4B00 often means a qc hold. But it is used for more than a qc hold, such as whenever a dispatcher swipes the vin. I would expect a car shipped to Alaska would get a lot of swipes.

dunner: did you order a turbocharged ltz?

Thanks, Sonic. Chevy Connects just updated with another 4B00 for yesterday. Looks like I might as well buy another tank of gas for the current car.

I agree with Sonic. QC Hold sometimes takes as little as a few days and has taken as long as a few weeks. No predicting how long yours might take, if it is a QC Hold, but while on hold, everything is checked by the people who build them, not just the part causing the hold. That there is a benefit to that kind of check goes without saying.

i want my carrrrrrrrrr...... it was supposed to be here last thursday but it was still on the train, thanks to a 3 day delay at the factory.... but its been more then 3 days since then and its still nowhere to be seen

Checked with the dealer this AM and they've been invoiced on the car, so they are saying "Any day now!" I'll take that as meaning next week, with luck! But that's about what I expected. It's been 2 months since I placed my order, but everything takes longer getting to AK!

The nice thing is that with standardized transportation fee, it doesn't cost more. You don't want to know what it would cost to get rims sent up for winter tires from TireRack...

Things have been too quite the past week. where is my car already! so close, but it feels so far. From the looks of it, i'm guessing it went to a rail yard on the 26th then transferred to a truck on the 1st? any one have a better guess?

I don't think it is on a truck, it looks like it is still on the autocar. But it should not be much longer. GMConnects picks up and posts the day following an event, so it could be off the autocar as of now. Tomorrows update could tell the story. Once it comes off the autocar, it takes dispatch a couple of days to get it on a truck car carrier and headed toward your dealer.
