GM Connects has me at: 02/09/2012 - (4300) Interm transfer. Processing transfer to QC or vendor.
I stopped in at my dealer this AM and they show the car is on a train somewhere between OH and Kent, Washington, so at least it's not stuck in Quality Control. From WA, a tug pulled barge to AK and then a truck to the dealer. "Shouldn't be long now" was their precise description of when it will arrive. I'm guessing mid-March.
I do appreciate the flat rate delivery charge and thank all of you who live a lot closer to MI for subsidizing the delivery of my Sonic!

Mine did the same thing. I assumed it was the second shippment from the transfer point.

dvn, if your dealer can give your a rail car number than you know it is in transit, first to Toledo then on the rail line which will get it near to your dealer who will get it from a truck car hauler.
If he can not, there is a good chance for a QC as multiple 4BOOs are the only indication we out here get for a QC Hold. Some dealers have been able to get their district manager to check but are rarely successful.
Getting the rail car number is the key and your dealer CAN do it.

I (optimistically)take this to mean it's sitting in one of the PHX rail yards, waiting to be loaded on a transport and delivered to my dealer.....dealer has been 'unable' to provide any rail car tracking info, though, so I'm not entirely sure.......I even provided the dealer the rail car tracking information posted in previous posts on this forum....no luck getting a rail car tracking number...oh well.....at least the process is moving forward:banana:

It takes two or three days from the time the car is off loaded from the rail car to the time it goes on the car hauler. So your car could be at your dealer this weekend. Most dealers are able to accept drops even when closed. So you could be hearing from your dealer Monday.

I thought about getting the Sonic "Outside" and driving it up to AK, but it's a long trip. I've driven the AK highway 20 times over the years, and didn't want to drive a brand new car 3800 miles in winter, burning up around 100 gallons of fuel, so I can be patient. Without the flat rate shipping charges on these cars, actual transportation cost would probably be around $1500 or more. It should arrive mid March, and with only another month of winter ahead of us (fingers crossed...), I can get by without winter tires until next fall when I'll buy rims and Blizzaks for it.
