Its Heeerrrreeee!!!! Finally in My Hands I Give You...

My Brand New DDMWorks 1.8L Sonic Intake System!!! :banana:

Yeah, I know to alot of you i will get a "Big Whoop"... But to me this is a big deal. I finally got the extra cash to spring for one and here it is in the flesh. Now just to find the time to install it lol. I plan on following $ub$onics Guide and Doing this upgrade install myself! lol, Keyword, Try ha ha ha. Cant be that hard right

So Excited to get this installed. For now i got the UNI Foam Filter as i dont have a tune yet and wont be getting it right away. But once i do all i will have to do is just buy a K&N Filter and Tune it. This is going to make the car even more fun to drive. The sound alone will make it fun to be in it.

lol. Thanks PreLoader! appreciate that I only said it because ive seen people say stuff like that when someone gets something thats already been done for a while already. I cant wait to get this done. and i will try to take some photos as i go along with the install to help anyone out on what all is needed done. $ub$onics guide is going to help me bunch's im sure!

Shifter bushings or an ultragage is kinda old news reaction worthy, but I don't recall the DDMW 1.8 intake being played out by any means.

I know the tune won't be as jaw-dropping as with a turbo 1.4, but is there anything (besides $$$) that has held you back from going for the tune?

To me that's one of the most fun mods I have done. It's a great toe-dipper into the DIY world and I am confident you've got it in the bag.

yes, cash is #1 why i havent gotten the tune. I have alot of other priorities at hand to tend to and when i get the extra and can afford to splurg on myself or my car i take that opportunity...

#2 reason, I dont have a Laptop or access to one, nor the cable to do the tune... Yes, i know they loan out laptops and cables, but at a hefty price (even if its refunded once the products are returned to them), i still have to have that open on my card to make the purchase. so the tune, cable, and a laptop rental would spike my purchase to a hefty $400-500+ range.

something i just dont have right now or likely ever unless i would hit big on something lol. I would love a tune, but just simply cant afford it. not unless i knew some people that was willing to help me tune my car using their laptop and cable. (Even then i would still need a laptop eventually for myself so to keep up on the tune and updates ect). So that in a nutshell is why i havent done the tune yet :-/

Plus im just clueless to that process and dont want to brick my brand new cars computer trying to update the ECU to get More Power from it lol.

Thanks for the offer chris, I will keep that in mind when im ready to do the tune. It just wont be this year. Have too much to worry about right now thru the end of the year. maybe next spring/summer i will do that.Will have to wait and see where things are at by then. Thanks again for the offer!

Rear end noise issue...solved!!!

I got some Great news from the Dealership Today... My Rear End Noise Issue has FINALLY been Solved!!! :banana:
It Turned out to be Bad Shocks in the Rear End!! Yep, Just under 13,000 Miles on it and i already have bad shocks in the rear.

They sure dont make things with quality in mind anymore! So i continue to drive the 2013 Malibu Rental til its fixed on monday when the parts arrive. Will go pick it up after work. I cant wait, I miss my Sonic so much!! The malibu is an ok car, nice, but i miss my Sonic!

I miss the boom from the subwoofer, the Vroom from the exhaust. I miss having room to breathe in the front seats!! The sonic is Beyond more roomy than malibu up front. even my friend thinks the sonic is more roomy in the passanger seat of my Sonic vs the Malibu. plus the malibu is eating gas left and right and this is with me babying the thing. Gonna be nice to be back in my sonic again!

With that said, I plan on installing the intake system next weekend as long as everything goes as planned lol. thats my goal anyways ha ha ha

Rear End Noise FIXED!!!

Just got home with my Sonic and The Fallen is doing Great!!! The noise is no more. Been resolved with the replacement of the Right Rear Shock. Left is still original shock at this time. They only replaced the one. But after installing it, they kept it one more night to test it out in the morning and upon testing it no longer made any noise with pressing down on the Right and Left rear Wheel well to put pressure on the shocks and no noise upon moving it. So at this time the car is Back in Perfect Health again!! Oh did i miss my sonic! Felt good to be back into it again :banana:

My plan is to either tomorrow morning or this weekend install the intake system. I just scanned over the engine bay to see what all i will need to do the task. Looks like it should be a simple job and when i say simple lol i mean, about an hour to take old out and hour to put new in lol. Yeah, im a little new to doing installs myself. but i want to start learning to do this stuff myself so The Fallen is my Guinie Pig lol. Gotta start somewhere lol.

DDMworks 1.8 Intake INSTALLED!!!

Finally after 2 and a half hours of messing with this damn thing i FINALLY have my DDMworks intake system installed!!! Yes, i said 2 and a Half hours to install it. I told you guys i wasnt the best at this stuff. If it wasnt one thing it was another. Nothing EVER is easy for me. Where does one jack up the car from the front of it? I need to get the Belly pan off so i can retrieve a couple screwdrivers from my engine bay! yeah, butterfingers here lol.

So, after a couple hours of cussing and swearing i have the intake installed! :banana: looks great. Of all the install the thing that gave me the most grief was the damn UniFoam Filter! Damn thing kept slithering off the pipe as if on ice. Even after cleaning it thoroughly with countless cleaners to remove all oil residue from both the fitler rubber and tube. So, I did some rigging and Took the tube off and drilled a few holes and screwed the MoFo onto the pipe! Aint coming off now little bastard! Sorry, Im just frustrated that I get all that way then have a damn filter give me the most hell. opcorn:

PS, I did get the screwdrivers out of the belly pan! had to jack the car up and reach into the opening for the exhaust and grab them lol. damn butterfingers lol. oh well. Love the intake! runs great. and so far no check engine lights!

NEW Headlight Bulbs and Fog Light Bulbs...

Got me some new Bulbs for my Sonic to upgrade the Headlights Lows And Highs and Also went ahead and Bought a Pair for the Fog Lights as well.

I went with PUTCO Halogen Bulbs for all of them.

Once i have them all i will take them somewhere and have them all installed at the same time. I dont feel like messing with the wiring in this car so i will have this done by someone else. Once installed i will update with pictures and/or video of how bright they are and how they look. My goal is to record a video at night of the stock setup then that way i can compare to these new bulbs.

New Fog Light Bulbs Arrived!

Got my new Fog Light Bulbs From Putco... Jet Yellow 3000k Halogen Bulbs! Now im just awaiting for the UPS driver to deliver the new Wire Harness's i ordered and slated to be here today. Once i have them i will post up some pics of them too. Then when i get the time to do so get them installed!

Fricken stealership quoted me at $200+ to install everything once i got all the parts. I told them forget you, i'll install it myself for that price! or find someone who wont charge out the yingyang for putting in some harness's and bulbs.

I do not understand the harness either. The factory bulbs for the Fogs are H8 and you purchased H8 bulbs.... Please explain.
