Why did you choose Sedan or Hatchback?

I live in the city, so it's great for getting through the traffic and parking.

I was also one of those people that took joy in knowing that if i had to drive people around they'd have to climb in

The RS has 5 doors tho.... but i can forgive that because you don't notice them and it looks ***y (why is such an appropriate word censored? )

Fold down the rear seats, load up and move on. Did laundry, and went to Sam's Club and loaded up in 1 trip.

Now the sedan does look damn good too...especially compared to the Focus or Fiesta... But you can't beat a hatch for every day use.

Hatchback:4 door.
I love the placement of the rear door handles. When I first bought my Sonic it threw everyone off. The cargo space is great. I do not even break a sweat going into Costco's. The hb can handle the bulk for sure!

I'd love to shave the rear handles even tho they pretty much already are I used my hatch like it's a 2dr anyhow.

Only time I use the rear doors is when I have to take the kids to daycare lol. The windows never go down. Doors rarely open. Etc.

IMO The hatch is only good for big square boxes. Like if your moving. And a guy. Id never lift something that big/couldnt fit in my car so im good on that one!

I can vouch for Fempunk, all of that would easily fit in the sedan trunk

Im going to winco sometime this weekend ill have to snap a pic. Right now i have a bunch of stuff ive bought to do to my car (plastidip cans, cloths, detailing products, tint) and a big bag of clothes i need to drop off at goodwill, and i bet ill still fit all my groceries in there.

With four people riding in the car the sedan will win hands down but if you allow for seats down pack to the ceiling I think hatch will win.

Definitely the hatch. When I moved, I had boxes on the bottom, with lighter stuff on top. That thing was stuffed from top to bottom and from the rear of the front seats to the back. The boxes might have fit in the sedan trunk, but definitely not with stuff on the top.

The problem I've always had with trunks is folding the rear seats down. You are really hindered by the size of the opening.

There's no winners or losers really. The folding seats on both types mean you can carry quite a bit in both. Access is just more generous in the hatch

Packing to the ceiling is very dangerous(besides illegal) so dont expect me to be doing that lol

Abd that is a little odd. So your saying the trunk on sedan will definitly beat out the hatch area but if both cars have seata down itll be different? Is there a difference in seats i dont know about? Lol

I carry several large rectangular boxes of books/DVDs to numerous shows and conventions in my hatch. There is NO way they would all fit in the sedan.

Not to mention the very distinctive styling of the hatch, whereas the sedan looks pretty much like any other car in its class.

Literally like 30 bags full of groceries, theres also can packs underneath

Also took one after i took out some bags, so you can see the stuff i mentioned i had the other day, bunch of car stuff n big bag of clothes. Haha.

No way that would all fit in the back of the hatch. Youd have to use your back seat.

Hatch - 19.0
Sedan - 14.9

Of course with the seats down, the hatch wins in a runaway.

It doesn't though. You are comparing only the sedans TRUNK, if you use the back seats of the sedan like you would use the back seats of your hatch the sedan would still win.

Let's have a friendly little wager I invite a hatch owner to a car loading contest to have fun and settle this once and for all.

I have a bunch of new empty 14"x12"x10" cardboard boxes still folded up flat, lets fold them into boxes see how many will fit in my sedan and your hatch. Winner gets 'told ya so' bragging rights!
