But it is nice to have some update.

Yay!
Unless you are within 5 minutes of the plant, there is NO way you will have your car by Thanksgiving. Shipping, even to locations within 3 hours of the plant, is taking up to weeks and sometimes more.

4150 (Invoiced) is the key. That starts the 30 day count down after which the dealer starts being charged for interest. Truck only deliveries may start that day and certainly within a few days. Train deliveries are more problematical and thus the two or three week delay. I suspect most Sonics go by train. I should know if there is a spur to the Orion Plant, but as I recall there is not, which means cars are trucked to the spur, loaded onto a rail car, and go through that train car shuffle before being unload so they can be trucked to the dealer.
The reason 4150 is key is dealers do not want to spend interest on a vehicle that can not be delivered to the retail customer. Once the vehicle is invoiced, they want it NOW. Its called floor planning and it also is why you are able to make your best deals on vehicles that have gone the longest sitting on the dealers lot. Of course, there is usually a reason the vehicle has sat there for so long.
