Alcohol Sensor install

Well, I plan to run full e85 with the e85 tune, so no 'estimation' needed.

Doing some leg work on how I'll run ethanol hosing. Looking a 3/8" SS braided PTFE lines adapted from -6 AN to stock push on females.

Gonna be full-on legit.

Once I'm satisfied with sensor plumbing and wiring, I'll ping BNR for the mixture sensing tune.

P/N for the AN adapters is 640853, if anyone also wants to go this route.

I love SS lines, just make sure anywhere they'd touch paint/metal that you have a protective covering or mounting ring of some type.
(Those things turn into buzzsaws lol!)

I found the wiring harness on gmpartsdirect for $19, but it won't show up in the shopping cart when I try to place my order. Sent them an email.

In the meantime I ordered 4 AN to female push on adapters, a couple AN 90's and 3 feet of black SS PTFE lined fuel hose FTW.

Also got a shipping confirmation on the injectors from BNR. It's all coming together.

Is there some kind of trick to getting the OEM fuel line connectors off or do you need a special tool?

Got my sensor piped in today. I used AN fittings from anfittingsdirect.com.

P/N:
3 x hose to Female straight AN -6 ANF1253
1 x hose to Female 90 AN -6 ANF1259

I used EFI fuel line to AN adaptors from Russell fittings.

P/N:
4 x 640853

And 2 feet of black SS 3/8" fuel line.

I mounted the sensor underneath the wiper cowl.

Clean install! How was the wiring or have you not wired it in yet?

Wiring is next. The sensor harness is like two feet too long and has an eyesore of a heat wrap on the end that I cut off. I presume the sensor wiring was close to the exhaust on the Buick CXL...... not an issue on my install. Once I get it wired in, I'll order the DP (finally) and the flexfuel tune update from BNR.

Good deal. I think everything up to pinning the ECM I am more than capable of, I haven't had the opportunity to pin aharness yet.

The ECM J3 harness has 58 pins. I know I'm supposed to run sensor ground to pin 20 and sensor output to pin 34. The problem is that the harness doesnt identify the middle rows (there are 4 rows) of pins. If the first row is 1 through 16 counting up from the bottom, does 17 through 32 start at the bottom of the next row of pins?

The sensor conversion tutorial link doesn't cover this area well.

It's been a while since I did this but as I recall, it turns out the count goes top to bottom, then top to bottom, top to bottom... rather than the equally likely top to bottom, bottom to top, top to bottom.

I ran a number of different alcohol contents, and Vince was able to peg what I was running every time from reading the data logs... Or at least he was able to see a number that was within the possible range. Since E85 can be anything from E85 to E70, and the various grades of nominal E10 regular can be anywhere from E0 to E10, I wasn't able to give precise numbers, but I could do the math that would indicate anywhere from E10 to E20 and get back E16, and so forth.

I think BNR is considering putting together a kit for this.

So any news on if BNR is doing a kit for this?

If when I get my Sonic, there isn't a kit, could I send you money and have you grab all this stuff and ship it to me? Otherwise I can go Preloader's route and order from the site he did. I'd rather do exactly the same as one of you than try to go somewhere locally and somehow screw something up.
