Craziest story ever!!!!!
I ordered the sprung disc last week, thinking that it'd be softer on the trans when I did the swap. Problem is, I accidentally gave them the wrong address for the shop that I'd be doing the work at.
The address I gave them doesn't exist. So when I called CM they tracked it and said it was delivered and signed for. FML right?
Well turns out it was signed for by a lifetime friend of my dads at a parts store up the street. HA!!!!
I called him and sure enough it was there!!!!
Looks like its gonna happen after all.

back in business!!
Can't tell any dramatic difference withe the MZ0, but I haven't tried a WOT assault through the gears yet.
I definitely noticed a big difference with the poly added to the LCAs. The front suspension feels tighter. Much more like a sports car.
Also the sprung disc is the way to go. It doesn't feel so insanely sensitive. Lesson learned..... Stay away from the Rigid Discs.

After a little more driving, I can say that the the poly mod to the bushings is a major upgrade.
The steering response is more immediate. I swerved to avoid a pothole and was like: whoa.
I was a little preoccupied with the trans ordeal so sorry for the lack of pics, but here is the stock bushing:
I simply mixed the urethane, McMaster Carr 80A btw, and poured it in the voids. It set-up in a couple of hours and should be fully cured in a day or two.

I managed without tape. Once mixed, it's thick enough to not run out of the small pinhole openings of the stock rubber moldings.
I just filled one side, waited an hour for it to firm up, and then flipped it over and filled the other side.
I believe the end result is pretty damn close to what I'd get with an aftermarket poly bushing. Thanks for the tip.

Did you ever talk to any companies about sourcing solid LCA bushings for the sonic?

That would be awesome. I can't imagine them being very expensive, probably alil more than the lower motor mount for a set.
If that's the case presumambly most of the members that bought motor mounts would also buy the LCA bushings.
Because slot car handling.

Because of that bushing being perpendicular to the arc of the control arm, I would not recommend a completely solid polyurethane replacement. A solid bushing will bind too much, and reduce the control arms ability to articulate freely. This binding can create undesired spring rate increase. Additionally, the bushing will not last very long.
The best compromise is what Preloader has done. It still allows for a decent range of movement while stiffening up the for/aft axis which is what can contribute to wheel hop. The only thing I might change, after seeing pictures, would have been to hog out the voids a little more before pouring the poly.
In a perfect world or one where road noise and constant maintenance were a non-issue, I'd replace the front bushing with delrin and then put a spherical bearing in the rear bushing location.
