And just to see how much another shop would charge, i got an email back with a jaw dropping amount in it with an estimate of $984.76 to have the kit prepped, painted and installed!!!

Soooo, with that, unless i come up with some serious cash of $600-800 to have this kit installed, its not getting done any time soon. Guess i have me a dust collecter in the basement.....

Thanks for all the support and ideas everyone has offered but i just want to quick write and say i will not be doing any further modifications this year....

I have decided to focus my money on taking care of other things that need the money more than adding something to my car. im happy with where i got it right now and would rather get my other financial's in order first before i do any more work to my sonic.

Likely wont be logging on much here on out as i wont have anything new to add to this build thread....

The Project Begins....

With the recent kindness of PreLoaders idea... I have new hope with my sonic. With that said, I have started to begin work on getting things in order to do what i have planned to do for a while now but have put off because i figured i wasnt gonna see the body kit happen...

So Stay Tuned, The New "Fallen" will be coming in the Future!! My ideas will come to life and modifications will all make sense once this is done. Cant wait to get this done!! So Excited! opcorn: :banana:

I am going monday to make the appointment to have the body kit painted and installed. likely will be 2-3 weeks before they can get me in as they were already behind as of the first week of June. Once i have further details i will update...

Until then, i just want to say a HUGE Thank You to all of you who felt the kindness within to help me acheive my long term goal of having a body kit installed on my Sonic. I as PreLoader stated, NEVER asked for this generous offer and incredible efforts from everyone.

I am deeply humbled by all of your kindness in this Goal I had. I cant wait to get this done and Premeire my Amazing idea i have had for my sonic from the start. Once this is done, you all will see why i have been doing the things i have done thus far. Thanks again! Cant Wait :banana: opcorn:

contacted the body shop on monday. havent heard back yet to get an appointment setup. they were very busy and had to talk to the receptionist instead of the manager. gave my info and asked for them to call me back. that was monday as i said, still nothing yet. So once i know something, i will let you all know... opcorn:

ok ive tried calling, ive tried emailing this body shop... Been 2 weeks now. So, With that said, Tomorrow, when i get off work, im driving to the shop and talking to them in Person!

If they still dont want to take in my business im offering them then screw them, i'll go somewhere else and get it done. But just know, if i have to do that route, i may not get this done this year like i wanted to.

Keep Fingers crossed me showing in person gets more accomplished than calling or emailing them did!! opcorn:

Body shops get busy..... But them not getting back to you is super lame. It'll be hard not to give them an ear-full. Waving money in their face is should prove effective though.

Appointment made!!!

Finally was able to get somewhere with the dealership to get the work done. Had to talk to the General Manager of the dealership to get somewhere since i wasnt getting any contact thru the people themselves. :blankface:

But i got my appointment made now and will be going in on Monday July 21st, 2014 at 3:30pm to drop off my Sonic and grab a rental until my Sonic is Completed. opcorn:

So within the next two weeks i will have my Sonic Reborn with a 3D Carbon Body Kit Installed!! :banana:

im excited for monday to take my car in and drop it off so to get the body kit done. im hoping by wednesday to be able to pick it up. idk if i will be able to get to it in time if not done early wednesday. have another appointment to tend to wednesday afternoon so may be thursday before i get to get my Sonic. Will have to wait and see how the week goes.

Car In Body Shop To Have Kit Installed!!!

Just dropped off my sonic into the body shop to have it installed this week. Between prepping, painting, installing, fixing a couple bad spots on the car from a-hole people not watching there damn doors when parked next to me and having the car detailed inside and out while in it will be roughly Friday Earliest i can see my car again. Told them take your time and do it right so when i get it back im completely satisfied with the results.

So i have me a Rental until its done. Got me a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu LT Sedan for a rental. Has a Rear view camera for backing up. MyLink Radio (First time ever seeing or touching one) so that was very interesting figuring that thing out lol. Overall this malibu is a nice ride. not something i would drive daily. but its nice for now and a ride to get around.

Once i have my sonic back and weather plays nice when i pick it up, i will be taking a bunch of pictures to try and get the best shots of the Finished product. Then will post them Up here on the Forum Likely when i enter for the August SOTM Contest! So Coming August, 3D Carbon Installed Body Kit on The Fallen!!! opcorn: :banana:

***update***

wanted to give an update on the body kit process. Got a call from the body shop, they havent even started on my car yet lol. They were a little behind on some work so they just got to my car this afternoon to look it over and give me an estimate on a couple items i asked about before they started.

To remove the scratch that i got on my one door, $250 roughly. has to be repainted so thats why it will cost so much. The dent in the other door will be roughly $100-125 to get that out.

So for now, i told them to just concintrate on the Body kit, see what that comes to cost wise, then If i can afford to get the others done, setup an appointment at a later time to get the others done. That kit is my top priority at this point. So id say monday before i get it back likely. They will be closed before i get off work saturday and doubtfull Friday will happen.

So once i have it back and pictures taken i will upload them.

The dents an nicks are more labor intensive. Spraying and installing the body kit is pretty straight forward. Don't want to get your hopes up, but it may be very possible they could have it done by the end of Friday. opcorn:

Just is not my kind of vehicle. The only thing i like about this malibu....MyLink Radio Unit with the Reverse Back-Up Camera System! Thats It. Period.
