Why did you choose Sedan or Hatchback?

I got a hatch because I liked the looks better than the sedan. I think the sedan kinda blends in with the other cars on the road(at least from the rear) where the hatch is almost unique in its look, though the spark looks like its younger sibling. I almost never have rear passengers, but if I do, the storage space behind the rear seats will be adequate for anything I might need with 4 people in the car. I also like the versatility of being able to fit bulky items in the rear of the hatch with the rear seats folded down. it had nothing to do with what was available on the lot, they had to locate one for me, none had the 1.4l with 6 speed ANYWHERE locally, not to mention the blue topaz color and the sunroof. perfect car for my needs at an affordable price.

Chose the hatch because the sedan looks too narrow and cheap in the back. The taillights are too narrow and they're placed too high on the car.

My preference would have been an RS hatch, but the dealer I purchased from had no hatches on the lot of any trim level. I wound up getting an LTZ sedan as I liked it the best from everything they had to choose from.

I have a hatch. I just prefer hatches in general, both for visual appeal and sportier look, and for better practicality and storage capacity. I dislike how the sedans' "butts" stick out. That's a totally individual preference though, no offense to sedan lovers

Hatch is more practical in my mind. Giant door for loading/unloading things FTW!

Not to mention you can put the seats down to get more space for loading stuff.

I already have a hatch in the garage (Suzuki sX4) so I went with the sedan to mix it up.

hatchback won't fit my 6 month old and the stroller... sedan only option. that trunk is massive for a car this size.

I picked the hatch because I really don't like sedans, I used to drive a coupe cobalt and always forgot what was in my trunk, plus my nieces and nephews are older and a coupe was too small, and I still wanted something sportier

Reason: It's so versatile! It's the best of both worlds. The comfort of a sedan and the versatility of a small station wagon! It's a "Win-Win!"

A sedan for me. I like the roomy trunk and ability to hide things from prying eyes. I had small hatchbacks in the past and always hated dirty water splashing on my rear window in the rain, which requires rear wiper/washer.

Hatch FTW! Because, as others have said, it's versatile.

Single. Kids are grown up. Coming from a Jeep in which I enjoyed the ability to carry my junk around with me.

To see how versatile it really is, I measured the back, then bought a 63" x 40" air mattress. I want to see if it fits, so I can do some "luxury" camping this year.

I agree. This little car has a trunk as big as Infiniti G37 sedan, which is a much larger car. Plus the rear seats fold for additional loading space, which is not the case with the Infiniti sedan.

Hatch

The hatch. I'm a musician and needed an open space to fit my 8X10 bass cabinet in. I'm afraid a trunk on a sedan wouldn't quite cut it. Besides the hatch looks so much better!!!

^Same here. I used to squeeze my 4x10 in the back seat of a '99 Maxima, and it was torture. It won't even fit in my Saturn sedan. With a hatchback, it's no problem at all.

Also, there's a drive-in theater near me (I know, right!) and it's just more fun lying down in the back with the seats down.

Well in my OPINION. Not factual. I like the hatch look on many cars in general. The Subaru Imprezza, Mazda 3, Toyota Matrix... They're just more appealing to me. The Sonic sedan is fine. But to me, the hatch just looks better.
